Why do welding companies make their gear flammable? It’s almost like it’s in a welding workshop 🙄 An odd job but a fun job, the original gear broke and the ears wouldn’t spin anymore. A bit of reverse engineering and a 3D print later and it works again 💪 I crafted a knife from sheep shears as a gift for my grandparents, which went straight to the pool room. This project proved both enjoyable and technically demanding, particularly when shaping the handle to accommodate the original curvature of the shears. The first knife I’ve made in a while, but it's a real beauty. Forged from 1075 steel, the handle is made from stabilised and dyed curly Birch. First knife I’ve made in a while, but goes hard. It’s always satisfying to finish old projects. Looking back at my pre-tradesman welds, I’m especially grateful I decided to pursue and complete my Cert 3 in Engineering – Fabrication Trade.
